I was mandated by GS1 in Europe (www.gs1.org, www.gs1.eu) as “European Director EPC/RFID” having the main responsibilities of the overall coordination and business development concerning EPC/RFID in Europe. Within this contract I supported 47 national GS1 organisations, public affairs activities to governments and was the main representative at public RFID events. I was managing several programmes such as “European Adoption Programme” helping the leading retailers and FMCG manufacturers in Europe to better adopt EPC/RFID, the GS1 internal “European EPC Project” and “Lab Network”, “European Media & Entertainment Pilot”, “EPAL EPC/RFID Programme” and the “EPC Europe Conference”. I was leading the submission and was responsible for the realisation of a support and action project funded by the European Commission (FP7) on worldwide coordination of RFID standards. I successfully initiated a FP7 proposal for the creation of a Thematic Network on RFID with total 25 project partners where I was leading the “Technical, Business and Policy Coordination” work package and also initiated and have been leading the “Global Traceability Infrastructure” project supported by the European Commission.
